Stony Brook

Yesterday I biked to the Stony Brook Reservation south of Roslindale in Boston.
I didn't do too much exploring as it was getting dark fast, but I did manage some interesting photos.

I found this little dock that jutted out into a small pond off the road, and I was struck by the complete placidness of the water and the lines of the dock.  On one side of the dock, some slats were missing, and through the holes, you could see the water.

The clear sunset, calm water, and faded wood of the dock combined for a subtly beautiful
spectrum of grays and blues.   Check out the fade in the water from steely blue to near white in the photo above.

Dig the reflection in the water!

There is something so amazing about trail markers.
