A photojournal of life?

Taking photographs is a hobby that I slip in and out of.  It's an activity that sometimes I am very charged and energized to do, and also something that I often shy away from afraid to look a little silly.  It is the art form that I have given the most consideration to as a personal action, and the one with which I have most personally engaged.  I haven't ever taken a course in photography, and everything technical that I know about it comes from mini-lessons from my mother and friends along the way.  

Mostly, though, photography is a skill that I seek to improve upon, technically and artistically.  Thus, the self-indulgent creation of this blog.  I hope to here parse out some of the thoughts and ideas I have about the artistic parts of photography and hopefully get some tips.
